For the last couple of weeks, I've been working in my spare time on an update of NewsHound, a personal news search engine that I developed while working at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) in Atlanta in the late 1990s.
NewsHound began as a component of an internal CDC web site that I managed called Today's News. This new front-end allows you to organize large numbers of queries which are run against (currently) the Bing news search web service. Results are displayed in a tree view under their query. Summaries of articles are displayed in the right-hand, and if you click on the article node the right-hand browser displays the actual web page.
Look for NewsHound 2011 to be available soon!
